Well Done to all of our S3 who took part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative YPI Scotland last half-term. All pupils researched a social issue and chose a local charity to represent. They then visited the charity or met with representatives to find out more about what they do. The final took place just before the holiday in which each group presented the case for their chosen charity as to why they deserved to be granted £3000. We had seven different charities represented: congratulations to Gracie-Anne, Zoe and Iain who were the winning team and bring £3000 to The Aros Hall. Also, huge thanks to all staff involved and to our judges: Mary-Jean Devon, Lesley Western, Mr McKenzie and - two of last years' winning team - Sara and Verity.

Huge congratulations to the Winners of this years' YPI (Youth and Philanthropy Initiative) event.
All of S5 and 6 worked in teams to choose a local charity deserving of winning a £3000 grant. They had to put together a presentation which showcased the charity; how it benefits the local community and how the money would be spent.
The winning team had to deliver an 8 - 10 minute presentation which used a variety of creative techniques to help show their passion for the charity.
The guidelines were very strict and it was a keenly fought competition, but the triumphant team were delighted to be able to deliver a £3000 cheque to The Aros Hall.
Their video was identified as one of the best the YPI representative had ever seen and she requested a copy to be able to use as an example of excellent practice!
Well Done Gentleman and congratulations to The Aros Hall.

Our 2022 YPI (Youth and Philanthropy Initiative) event was won by the Glen Iosal Group, securing £3000 towards cheering up the gardens and starting up clubs and activities to help the tenants socialise post-Covid.
It was a fiercely fought contest with our S2 groups producing some wonderful, well thought out and thoroughly researched presentations.
