Tobermory High School Eco Committee

The committee was formed to try and improve our schools problems with litter and waste, making us overall a cleaner, greener school. The Eco Committee aims to make Tobermory High School a cleaner, greener place by:

The Eco Committee is led by senior pupils who are actively recruiting members from all stages of the school. With the team being so varied, it is hoped that all areas of the school will be addressed and kids of all ages throughout the school will learn about how to improve the state of their home planet. We all hope that this new venture into a greener way of thinking will change our school for the better and encourage members of the local community to get involved.

The committee will be introducing new methods to get students excited and involved in recycling, energy saving and reducing their carbon footprint.

Previous initiatives have included utilising the House System to encourage recycling of plastic, using bins allocated to each house and rewarding House Points to the house who collects the most plastic in a month.

“Our ambition is to ensure Tobermory High School plays its part in saving the planet” - Eco Committee Leaders.
