Rights Respecting Schools

Rights Respecting Schools

Here at Tobermory High School, we aim to become a Rights Respecting School.  In other words, a school where we aspire to recognise the rights of all.

Children’s rights are something that we all share and have and therefore put us all on an equal playing field.  Our rights are protected by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In school we have Rights Ambassadors whose role is to lead Tobermory High School on its journey to becoming truly rights respecting.  As a key part of our School Improvement Plan, everyone in the school will be learning to become global citizens and more positive attitudes to diversity will be nurtured.

Turkey and Syria  DEC Appeal - Bake Sale and Non-Uniform Day

Our Non-uniform Day and Bake sale on Friday 17 February, in aid of the DEC Appeal following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, raised over £700.

This was a whole school effort with everyone from  the ELC, Primary, Secondary and staff taking part.

A huge thank you to everyone involved.
